Fear of the unknown

Replace Fear of The Unknown with Curiosity  – Dany Gokey

One thing I will never be able to understand are some individual’s fear of the unknown.  Why do we as humans when we come across anything indifferent to us we automatically become suspicious or negatively label the object or individual simply because it does not fit in with our ideals. It’s almost as if we fear what we have no control over or simply no knowledge of.  But one thing I will never understand is this immediate fear and even more shockingly loathing of an article that is dissimilar to us.

When venturing into unfamiliar territory, people often focus on the negative rather than taking a chance and discovering what is at the core of the article. This can also be seen as Xenophobia.  Xenophobia according to Wikipedia is the irrational or unreasoned fear of that which is perceived to be foreign or strange.

An as a individual I have been a victim of this.

I firmly believe that it is time we replace our fear of the unknown with curiosity.

Perhaps by doing so it will produce the ability for us to inch forward to success and to conquer uncertainty in any domain in our lives.
